Dreaming Out Your Greatness

“The height of your greatness is not determined by the height of your material wealth, but by the greatness of your dreams.”

January Nelson tells how:

“Once, there was an older man, who was broke, living in a tiny house and owned a beat up car. He was living off of $99 social security checks. At 65 years of age, he decided things had to change. So he thought about what he had to offer. His friends raved about his chicken recipe. He decided that this was his best shot at making a change.

He left Kentucky and traveled to different states to try to sell his recipe. He told restaurant owners that he had a mouthwatering chicken recipe. He offered the recipe to them for free, just asking for a small percentage on the items sold. Sounds like a good deal, right?

Unfortunately, not to most of the restaurants. He heard NO over 1000 times. Even after all of those rejections, he didn’t give up. He believed his chicken recipe was something special. He got rejected 1009 times before he heard his first yes.

With that one success Colonel Hartland Sanders changed the way Americans eat chicken. Kentucky Fried Chicken, popularly known as KFC, was born.

Material wealth can never be taller than the wisdom that brings them to bare. Wherever mundane things are leading the vibes of the season, great dreams will be there settling as wine dregs at the foot of the gourd to reveal your undeniable sweetness in the aftermath. Whereas material wealth can be instantly gratifying; you can only find your most consoling joy, hope and ultimate satisfaction in your dreams. When you allow some great choices to to rule your passion; they would posture your heart for the world to appreciate your secret beauty.

The journey of life is opened to all directions but without any ultimate destinations. As such, the entire race is not about who finishes first. It is about who gets to making some marks on the sands. In other words, whoever makes any marks in the journey of life is a winner. Therefore, when you find someone that feels they are better than others in anyway; you can understand that such persons have not even started. Emphatically, the success of your journey in life has nothing to do with your speed neither does it have anything to do with any great feelings that you derive from your material wealth.

Life is very quick at playing tricks on anyone who tries to determine the height of their greatness by the metrics of the material things they possess. As much as wealth can guarantee some level of confidence, your pride can only be assured in some great mindset that you possess. So that, in whatever circumstance you find yourself in life, the one thing that will underscores your ultimate pride is not the melody that plays out of your status, but the emotional connection between whatever is happening to you and the confidence that you can make out of that.

Your value in life anchors on the quality of your dreams. So that, a life without dreams is a miserable play upon role confusion. Wealth always lies helplessly at the mercies of every dream that can grow towards success. Everyone with a great dream, despite not having any physical substance to show, would always have an identity with fortune and fame. At the moment, it is possible you do not have much of the material things that the world hopes to see. But, given that you carry those great thoughts of possibility; I can tell you that you are as rich as you can be. I did not know that my life was not worth anything much until my mind told me so. Therefore I had done well to ignore those secret voices calling me out to beat a retreat in the heat of my pursuits in life.

Your greatness in life is not about where you are at present and it is not about your speed, either. The question is not whether you are throwing yourself around, but rather, whether you have the emotional connection between where you are at the moment and where you hope to be in future. If you feel you have a dream in life, then the best way to describe yourself would be about someone who had no business losing hope in a night journey because they were sure of their destination.

I deliberately remain on the race if I continue to convince myself that I am there. Everyone can tell you that you are down; but you alone can tell yourself that you are out. You have everything to worry about when wealth alone puts you on red carpets. You wouldn’t be sure of staying there for long without going there with some dreams. On the other hand, great dreams alone can put you out on red carpets; and also guarantee your staying there with wealth.

If you have got some great dreams today; then you are as great as you can be. Therefore, why not go ahead and start fashioning something out for yourself today. If you can think it; you can dream it. And if you can dream it; your beauty becomes a sure guarantee. Real beauty is inner beauty! You don’t have to be beautiful outside to become the kind of person you hope to be. You can always work it out with your inner beauty. As you are working out your dreams, you know that you are preparing to unveil your real height to the world. It comes from the kind of person you are, the choices you make and what you are doing about those choices. It’s that simple! Pick up some great choices today; then work at them and find yourself dreaming big to stand tall in life.
